How the Nîmes University Hospital regained control of sensitive access to its information system ?

When we launched the project to monitor our subcontractors' activity within the Nîmes University Hospital, we had several major market players to choose from.

Then we heard about a brand-new company, RUBYCAT-Labs, and its solution PROVE IT.

After a product demonstration, the solution offered the expected features: support for RDP and SSH protocols, video recording of subcontractor sessions, LDAP connection for user, group and permission management, storage efficiency, and log generation.

A flexible solution to deploy within the CHU de Nîmes ecosystem

This virtual solution, with a very low resource footprint, is positioned as a breakpoint at the VPN exit. Its positioning makes it possible to grant contributors only the strictly necessary access : no complex firewall rules, only RDP and SSH protocols directed at the appliance are permitted.

Upon exiting the VPN, contributors connect to it and are presented with icons representing the authorised servers. They simply select the desired access, accept the charter reminding them of their confidentiality obligations, and the connection is initiated. We carry out sample-based checks, allowing us to remind contributors of best practices whenever inappropriate behaviour is identified. Logs are forwarded to our SIEM.

Easy to administer on a day-to-day basis

There was a certain risk in choosing a young company, but there were also two advantages : a competitive pricing position and an obvious dynamism. This dynamism was confirmed very quickly during deployment and during our first calls to support, extremely responsive and always highly professional.

Ultimately, the solution is resource-efficient, requires minimal administration, and new features are continuously being added.
