However, given Rubycat's obligation to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data processing, you are hereby informed that your request will be processed subject to you providing proof of your identity, in particular by submitting a scan of a valid identity document or a signed photocopy of a valid identity document (in the case of a written request).

Rubycat informs you that it reserves the right, where applicable, to refuse requests that are manifestly abusive (by reason of their number, repetitive or systematic nature).

To assist you in this process, in particular if you wish to exercise your right of access by means of a written request to the postal address mentioned in point 1, a template letter prepared by the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (the "CNIL") is available at the following link:

You may also set out general and specific instructions regarding the handling of your personal data after your death. Where applicable, the heirs of a deceased person may request that the death of their relative be taken into account and/or that the necessary updates be carried out.

To assist you in this process, in particular if you wish to exercise your right of rectification — on your own behalf or on behalf of a deceased relative — by means of a written request to the postal address mentioned in point 1, a template letter prepared by the CNIL is available at the following link:

  1. Where the exercise of this right is based on legitimate grounds; or
  2. Where the exercise of this right is intended to prevent the data collected from being used for commercial prospecting purposes.

2. Cookie Policy

When you first connect to the Rubycat website, a banner at the bottom of your screen notifies you that information relating to your browsing may be stored in files called "cookies." Our cookie policy is designed to help you better understand the measures we implement with regard to browsing on our website. In particular, it informs you about all the cookies present on our website and their purposes (Part I.), and provides guidance on how to configure them (Part II.).

1. General Information on Cookies Used on the Rubycat Website

Rubycat, as publisher of this website, may place a cookie on the hard drive of your device (computer, tablet, mobile, etc.) in order to ensure smooth and optimal browsing on our website.

"Cookies" (or connection tokens) are small, limited-size text files that enable us to recognise your computer, tablet or mobile device for the purpose of personalising the services we offer you.

The information collected through cookies cannot in any way be used to identify you by name. It is used exclusively for our own purposes in order to improve the interactivity and performance of our website and to deliver content tailored to your areas of interest. None of this information is shared with third parties, except where Rubycat has obtained your prior consent or where disclosure of such information is required by law, by court order, or by any competent administrative or judicial authority.

2. Configuring Your Cookie Preferences

1. You may accept or refuse the placement of cookies at any time

When you first connect to the Rubycat website, a banner briefly presenting information relating to the placement of cookies and similar technologies appears at the bottom of your screen. This banner notifies you that by continuing to browse the Rubycat website (e.g. by loading a new page or clicking on various elements of the site), you consent to the placement of cookies on your device. You are also deemed to have given your consent to the placement of cookies by clicking the "X" icon on the right-hand side of the banner displayed at the bottom of your screen.

Depending on the type of cookie concerned, obtaining your consent to the placement and reading of cookies on your device may be mandatory.

a. Cookies Exempt from Consent

In accordance with the recommendations of the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), certain cookies are exempt from the prior collection of your consent insofar as they are strictly necessary for the operation of the website or have the sole purpose of enabling or facilitating electronic communication. These include in particular session identifier cookies, authentication cookies, load-balancing session cookies, and interface personalisation cookies. These cookies are fully subject to this policy insofar as they are issued and managed by Rubycat.

b. Cookies Requiring Prior Consent

This requirement applies to cookies issued by third parties, which are classified as "persistent" insofar as they remain on your device until they are deleted or until their expiry date.

Since such cookies are issued by third parties, their use and placement are governed by their own privacy policies, links to which can be found below. This category of cookies includes audience measurement cookies (exclusively Google Analytics in the case of Rubycat), advertising cookies (which Rubycat does not use), and social network sharing cookies (in particular from Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn).

Audience measurement cookies generate statistics relating to the traffic and use of various elements of the website (such as the content/pages you have visited). This data contributes to improving the user experience on the Rubycat website.

Social network sharing cookies are issued and managed by the publisher of the relevant social network. Subject to your consent, these cookies enable you to easily share certain content published on the Rubycat website, in particular through an application "sharing button" specific to the social network concerned.

2. You have various cookie configuration tools at your disposal

Most web browsers are configured by default to allow the placement of cookies. Your browser gives you the opportunity to modify these default settings so that all cookies are systematically rejected, or so that only certain cookies are accepted or refused based on their issuer.

PLEASE NOTE: We draw your attention to the fact that refusing the placement of cookies on your device may nonetheless affect your user experience as well as your access to certain services or features of this website. In such a case, Rubycat accepts no liability for the consequences arising from the degradation of your browsing conditions resulting from your choice to refuse, delete or block cookies that are necessary for the operation of the website. Such consequences shall not constitute damage and you shall not be entitled to any compensation in this regard.

Your browser also allows you to delete existing cookies on your device or to be notified when new cookies are about to be placed on your device. These settings do not affect your browsing experience, but you will lose all the benefits provided by the cookie.

Please refer below to the various tools available to you for configuring the cookies placed on your device.

a. Configuring Your Web Browser

Each web browser has its own cookie management settings. To find out how to modify your cookie preferences, the following links provide access to the relevant help menu for each browser:

For further information on cookie management tools, you may visit the CNIL website: https://www.cnil.fr/fr/cookies-les-outils-pour-les-maitriser.

b. Disabling Google Analytics

The Rubycat website also uses the Google Analytics audience measurement service. However, if you do not wish your anonymised information to be transmitted to Google Analytics for the purpose of generating reports on website usage statistics, you may download and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. This tool is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11, Opera and Safari, and will prevent any Google Analytics JavaScript code embedded in the websites you visit from sharing information about you.
