Rubycat : French cybersecurity software publisher since 2014
Founded in 2014 in Rennes, Rubycat develops PROVE IT, a Privileged Access management (PAM) solution certified with the CSPN Security Visa by ANSSI (French National Cybersecurity Agency).
Rubycat now counts over 30 employees and more than 400 clients.
Our mission : to give you full visibility over the actions performed by privileged accounts on your information system, simply and efficiently.
Who is Rubycat ?
Founded in 2014, Rubycat is a software publisher specializing in Privileged Access Management (PAM). Based in Rennes, Rubycat addresses a critical cybersecurity challenge : controlling and securing privileged access across information systems.
For over 10 years, Rubycat has been developing and continuously improving PROVE IT, its administration bastion that helps organizations secure their information systems through effective control and complete traceability of sensitive access.
With a solution entirely developed in-house in Rennes, Rubycat maintains full ownership of its technical choices and adapts with agility to the specific needs of each organization. Because a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution should never be an additional burden for IT teams.
Our Story
The Rubycat entrepreneurial journey starts from a simple observation : organizations lack visibility into what is really happening on their information systems. Who is accessing which resource? When? And most importantly? what are they doing there?
How can security incidents be limited and actions traced to understand what actually happened?
In 2014, Cathy Lesage and Anthony David decided to tackle this challenge head-on. Their goal : to develop an effective administration bastion, easy to manage on a daily basis — without mobilizing an entire team or blowing the budget.
A sovereign, accessible Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution, truly adapted to the realities of IT teams: that's how PROVE IT was born.
Since then, the solution has continued to evolve. In 2018, it obtained its first CSPN Security Visa certification issued by ANSSI, followed by its renewal in 2023. An independent recognition that confirms the solution's level of excellence and robustness.
In 2021, having laid the foundations, Anthony David stepped back, leaving behind a solid solution and an R&D team ready to carry the adventure forward. Jonathan Clairembault then took over as Chief Technical Officer.
Today, Rubycat continues to grow primarily in the French and European markets, building on a strong network of integrator partners.
For over 10 years, our clients have trusted us, and they keep choosing us. That's the best proof that the way we work, by their side, makes the difference.

Foire aux questions
Is Rubycat a French software editor ?
Yes, Rubycat is a French company founded in Rennes in 2014. Its capital is exclusively French. Its PROVE IT solution is entirely developed and maintained in France.
What is PROVE IT by Rubycat ?
PROVE IT is a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution published by the French company Rubycat. Concretely, PROVE IT is an administration bastion that allows IT teams to control, trace and record all actions performed by privileged accounts on an information system : internal administrators, service providers, managed service providers and subcontractors.
Is PROVE IT by Rubycat certified by ANSSI?
Yes, the PROVE IT administration bastion obtained the ANSSI CSPN Security Visa in 2018, and renewed it in 2023. It is the only PAM solution to hold this certification that is currently valid.
Who is PROVE IT by Rubycat aimed at?
PROVE IT is aimed at IT teams in both public and private sector organizations who want to secure and trace privileged access on their information system, without complexity.
What is the difference between an administration bastion and a PAM solution ?
The two terms often refer to the same reality, but with subtle differences in usage.
PAM (Privileged Access Management) is the overarching concept: it encompasses all the practices, processes and tools used to manage, control and secure privileged access on an information system.
The administration bastion is the core technical component of a PAM solution. It is the mandatory gateway through which all privileged account connections pass. It ensures access control, session traceability and the recording of all actions performed.
In short: PAM is the strategy, the bastion is its main tool. PROVE IT is therefore both an administration bastion and a PAM solution.
Is Rubycat's PROVE IT suitable for SMEs and mid-sized companies ?
Yes, PROVE IT was designed from the outset to meet the realities of IT teams in SMEs and mid-sized companies : often with limited resources, no dedicated PAM expert, little time to spare, and a real need for optimised operational security.
Three characteristics make it particularly well-suited to these organisations:
- Fast deployment: PROVE IT is up and running within a few days (no more lengthy, costly projects!)
- Easy to use: the interface is designed to be intuitive, making day-to-day administration and maintenance of the solution straightforward.
- Controlled budget: the licence is dimensioned solely on the maximum number of simultaneous sessions to target resources. Declared users and target devices are unlimited. PROVE IT is available as a perpetual licence or as a subscription (1, 3 or 5 years) to offer maximum flexibility.
